Adriana Sampaio has a degree and PhD in Psychology from the University of Minho in 2006. She studied Medicine at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences – University of Porto. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Basic Psychology at the School of Psychology at the University of Minho. Currently, her research focuses on the study of neurodevelopmental processes, more specifically the study of the influence of genetics, brain (structure and functioning) and environment on the various cognitive and emotional processes that occur throughout development. As part of her work, Adriana Sampaio has published several articles in international journals, collaborating with various research teams (Spain, France, UK, Brazil and USA). She is the director of the Neuropsychophysiology Laboratory and has been principal investigator on several projects funded by FCT and the Bial Foundation and has been awarded prizes for her work in the field of psychology research.
